Visit to Bilecik to validate clinical quality data

A visit has been made to the province of Bilecik on 17-18 March 2014 within the scope of the 10th Workshop for the Clinical Quality Programme of Turkey, launched with the aim of ensuring the provision of correct diagnosis and treatment with the use of evidence-based medical practices, prevention of mistakes, improvement of the care process, and attainment of the best health results.
 
The visit aimed to validate the clinical quality data and to raise awareness about clinical quality, starting with a meeting at the Provincial Health Directorate of Bilecik. Head of Department of Clinical Quality and Head of Department of Statistics, Analysis and Information Systems of General Directorate of Health Services, Provincial Health Director of Bilecik, Public Health Director of Bilecik, Secretary General of the Public Hospitals Agency at the province and relevant technical personnel attended the meeting.

The schedule started with opening remarks about the importance of clinical quality, followed by a presentation by the representative of the software company Kardelen regarding clinical quality data transmission, the problems encountered and suggestions.

In order to validate the clinical quality data, the data sent to the Department of Clinical Quality were compared with the data at the hospital through queries performed at the Hospital Information System in use at the Bilecik and Bozüyük Public Hospitals.

The visit came to an end with an informative note about what the Provincial Health Directorate, the Public Health Directorate and the hospitals should do about clinical quality.
