Turkey 10th Clinical Quality Program Workshop was carried out between 17 – 21 March 2014

A field visit was made to the province of Bilecik between the dates of 19 – 21 March 2014, within the scope of the 10th Workshop for the Turkish Clinical Quality Programme, launched with the aim of ensuring the provision of correct diagnosis and treatment with the use of evidence-based medical practices, prevention of mistakes, improvement of the care process, and attainment of the best health results. The workshop then continued in Ankara between 19 – 21 March 2014.

English Department of Health Advisor Prof Mahmood Adil, Head of Department of Clinical Quality of General Directorate of Health Services Dr Abdullah Öztürk, Head of Statistics Analysis and Information Systems İbrahim Doluküp, personnel at the Department of Clinical Quality, and other relevant or interested personnel from the other departments of the Ministry attended the workshop.

The progress with the Clinical Quality Data Collection and Validation process and what should be done after this stage, what should be done in the Clinical Quality Improvement process, the feedback to be provided to hospitals, and the features and properties which the dashboard designed for feedback purposes should possess, and the addition of new health conditions into the clinical quality coverage were chief among the subjects discussed.

The workshop came to an end with a meeting with Undersecretary Prof Nihat Tosun, where a general assessment was made and the vision for the future was consolidated.
