Turkey 9th Clinical Quality Program Workshop was carried out between 13 – 17 January 2014

Within the scope of the programme, a visit was made to Eskişehir on 13-14 January 2014 in order to validate data. On-site reviews were performed in Eskişehir and a report was prepared about shortcomings detected and what to do to remove them.

  • Dr Mahmood Adil talked briefly about the Turkish Clinical Quality Programme.
  • Head of Department of Clinical Quality Dr Hüseyin Özbay gave brief information on the Data Validation Process, and spoke about the training provided to the provincial representatives of clinical quality.
  • Ideas were exchanged on what the programme had achieved up to this point and what to do next.

The following took place on the second day of the schedule:

  • General Directorate of Health Information Systems made a presentation on Sağlık.Net (Health.Net), the programme prepared for validation and how the validation would be performed. 
  • A presentation was made on how the Online Protocol system would be operated.

The following took place on the third day of the schedule:

  • Dr Adil made a presentation on the clinical quality implementations in England.
  • An introductory meeting took place with Prof Ali İhsan Dokucu, President of the Public Hospitals Agency of Turkey, and he was provided with brief information on the Turkish Clinical Quality Programme.
  • A meeting took place with the Undersecretary Prof Nihat Tosun on the current state of the programme and what should be done.

Field visits were carried out on the fourth day of the schedule:

  • The conformity of the programme developed for validation to the hospital information system used in Ankara Keçiören Training and Research Hospital was reviewed,
  • The conformity of the programme developed for validation to the hospital information system used in Ankara Private Akay Hospital was reviewed,
  • A meeting took place with the Deputy Undersecretary on what has been achieved so far and what should be done in the future.

The following took place on the fifth day of the schedule:

  • A meeting took place with Head of Department of E-Health Ünal Hülür regarding Online Protocol.
    What should be done until the next workshop was decided.
